Meeting in OsloWe are now finally planning for a network meeting. The meeting will be held in Oslo on Monday 9 August. It will be arranged by the Norwegian organization Books for everyone in cooperation with the Centre for Easy-to-Read in Stockholm.
The reason for this date is that IFLA (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) is holding its annual meeting rather close to Oslo - in Gothenburg 10 – 15 August. Also IFLA arranges satellite meetings and one of them is in Oslo 7 – 8 August. Thus it will be possible to visit one, two or all three of these meetings for those who wish to do so.
The programme is not ready yet, but it will include items on things like - What makes a text easy to read? How can easy-to-read books be developed? - Reading Power – a presentation of a new project inspiring next of kin, friends and relations and volunteers to read aloud to people with dementia - Research – old and new topics, how to initiate new research
All contributions to the agenda are very welcome!
The heading of the Gothenburg meeting is “Open access to knowledge - promoting sustainable progress” and that of the satellite meeting in Oslo is “With the Right to Read”. One of the co-sponsors of the satellite meeting is the International Network for Easy to Read.
We will return to you soon with a complete programme and more information.
This information can also be found at the Easy-to-Read Network site www.easytoread-network.org Please note the new address!
For more information about the other two meetings, please see http://www.ifla.org/en/ifla76/satellite-meetings
